Learning Through Play
Supporting Every Stage of Childhood with Care, Curiosity, and Connection
At A Child’s Second Look, our programs are thoughtfully designed to support children at every stage of early development—from toddlers finding their feet to school-aged kids building their confidence. Each program follows a play-based learning model grounded in Alberta’s
FLIGHT framework, encouraging growth in social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative domains.
We meet children where they are—and help them flourish.
Toddler Program
Our toddler program focuses on exploration, connection, and routine. Through sensory play, music, storytelling, and guided activities, toddlers begin to develop communication skills, social confidence, and independence. We offer a safe, responsive environment where little ones are supported in every first step.
Preschool Program
Preschoolers are naturally curious—and we build on that curiosity to foster school readiness, emotional resilience, and creativity. Children engage in structured learning activities, outdoor play, arts and crafts, and group-based projects that help them discover their voice and build meaningful relationships with others.
A Partnership with Parents
We value our partnership with parents and actively involve them in our approach to play-based learning. Through regular updates and open communication, parents can stay connected to their child’s progress and milestones. Together, we create a foundation for each child to thrive, explore, and enjoy the wonder of learning every day.
Preparing For The Future
Our educators act as guides, observing and supporting each child’s unique interests, fostering a sense of independence and confidence. By giving children the freedom to explore within a safe, nurturing environment, we prepare them for future academic and social success while fostering a lifelong love for learning.
